I love everything about being a pediatrician from watching a baby’s verbal skills emerge to finding out about their interests and watching them grow into young adults. I try to help families navigate difficult issues whether based on healthcare system challenges, behavioral issues or educational concerns and struggles.

My patient care approach is to support families using evidence-based medicine and the American Academy of Pediatric guidelines while taking into account cultural variances and issues unique to each individual.

Growing up, I was happiest in a tree. The higher, the better and I read a lot. My parents were teachers, so we would spend summers camping, exploring, and going to the beach where I loved to do back springs and ride the waves. When I was nine, I took out a book at the library about being an obstetrician. I still remember the shocked look on the librarian’s face. Later in medical school, I would attend deliveries and would want to stay near the babies and realized pediatrics was my passion.

I have three children who are all amazing young adults. Thankfully, they still like to hang out with us, and we enjoy dinners, going to the movies and traveling together. We have a hilarious rescue dog named Penny, to whom we are fiercely attached. My favorite motto that I got from my dad is, “New complain, never explain.”
