Additional Developmental Screening will occur at this well child visit. Enjoy this time as your child begins to show affection, use a spoon, and listen to a story. Most toddlers can eat table foods cut into small pieces, drink from a sippy cup and be fully weaned from a bottle. It is important to begin to teach your child not to hit, bite or hurt other people or pets. Continue to “child proof” your home as they begin to climb and use stairs.

By 18 months most toddlers will:

  • Walk backwards
  • Throw a ball
  • Stack two to three blocks
  • Imitate and “help” around the house
  • Pull toys along the ground
