  • What insurance plans do you accept?

  • Do you offer financial assistance?

Yes. The Children's Clinic offers flexible 0% interest payment plans and financial assistance options for qualifying families. Our billing team can help discuss available options.

  • What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Patients without insurance or not using insurance have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of care costs. If you are self-pay our office will notify you three days before your appointment with an estimate. Call 503-535-1458 with questions.

  • What is covered during a well-child visit?

Well-child visits are covered as preventive care by most insurance plans. However addressing a separate illness or managing an existing condition during the same visit is not considered preventive care and may be billed separately. See our Preventive Services PDF for more detail.

  • How do I add my newborn to my insurance?

Contact your insurance carrier immediately after your baby is born. Most health plans only allow 30 days to add a newborn. If you have OHP/Medicaid contact your case worker right away. They can provide a temporary ID card. If you cannot provide proof of insurance after your baby's two-month appointment a $75 deposit may be required.

  • What are your billing office hours?

Our billing team is available Monday through Friday 8:30am–5:00pm. Call 503-535-1458 for payments, payment plans, insurance updates, or billing questions.

  • When do I pay my co-pay?

Your insurance company requires that we collect your co-pay at the time of check-in for your office visit.

  • Do I need to select a pediatrician under my insurance?

This may be a requirement depending on your insurance plan. Please contact your insurance company regarding their requirements for selecting a primary care provider and medical home.

  • What if I have more than one insurance company?

TCC will submit a claim to all primary, secondary, and third-party payers. However it is your responsibility to contact each insurance company to coordinate benefits. Please bring all insurance cards to your appointment. Once your insurance has processed the claim we will bill you for the remaining balance. Payments are expected upon receipt of your statement. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, checks, and debit cards. A $25 fee applies to all returned checks.

  • What if I don’t have my insurance card at my appointment?

It is your responsibility to provide TCC with valid insurance information at every visit. If we are unable to verify active insurance at the time of service we will collect a financial waiver and a $75 deposit to be applied to your charges. You may contact the Billing Office to update your insurance information and we will file the claim.

  • Do you offer a discount to uninsured patients?

Yes, if you are uninsured we will offer a 25% discount (excluding labs, x-rays, supplies, medications, and immunizations) if the balance is paid within 30 days of the visit. Please call our Billing Office at 503-535-1458 to make your payment.

  • Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, TCC offers flexible payment plans with 0% interest. To set up a payment plan you can log in to your MyHealth portal or call our Billing Office at 503-535-1458.

  • I’ve been asked to pay a deposit — will I get it back?

In some instances TCC may ask you to pay a deposit to be held and applied to your visit. Any unused portion will be applied to previous balances. Any remaining funds will be refunded to the person who paid the deposit.

  • What if my ex-spouse is responsible for financial expenses but I’m bringing the child to the clinic?

TCC will not be responsible for disputes regarding divorce, custody, or financial responsibility. The custodial parent or the parent who brings the child to the clinic will be responsible for the account. TCC will not be involved in any court-ordered financial responsibility or insurance subscriber disputes.

  • What happens if I have repeated late cancellations?

A $75 fee applies to no-shows, same-day cancellations, and cancellations with less than 24 hours notice. After three offenses within a 12-month rolling period, families may be discharged from TCC. Note: these fees are not reimbursable by insurance, FSA, or HSA accounts and do not apply to Medicare/Medicaid patients.

  • Will I be charged if I leave a virtual appointment before my provider joins?

We do our best to stay on time but providers may occasionally run a few minutes behind. We ask that you remain available for up to 20 minutes after your scheduled time. If your provider has not joined within that time you are welcome to leave or reschedule. A late cancellation fee will not apply.

  • Can siblings be seen at the same appointment?

No, siblings may be seen consecutively, but each child has a separate appointment scheduled. There will be a separate charge for each child. Please remember to pay all co-pays before departing.
